SRP-500 Receipt Printer Features HP Inkjet Technology
CRS, Inc.,
the exclusive North American importer of Samsung
receipt printers, has announced the addition of
the Samsung SRP-500 two-color inkjet receipt printer
to its family of economical POS printers. Developed
by Samsung in alliance with Hewlett-Packard, the
SRP-500 provides new opportunities for resellers
in the fast growing global mini-printer market.
Using HP's state-of-the-art inkjet technology, the
Samsung SRP-500 combines high speed, consistent
print quality, high reliability and low total cost
of ownership.
In a market
currently dominated by thermal and impact printers,
the SRP-500 offers significant advantages. With
thermal, print quality deteriorates over time. In
retail and POS applications, where documents are
often archived for tax purposes, the permanence
of inkjet print is a major benefit. Printing at
6.5 lines per second (at 42 columns), the quiet
SRP-500 is faster than impact printers. Ink dries
instantly, preventing any smearing or ink transfer.
Instead of expensive thermal paper, the SRP-500
uses standard 3" paper rolls - cutting paper costs
in about half.
Retailers will
find inkjet printing bright, clear, and crisp. With
standard color selections including black, red,
blue, or green, the SRP-500 offers enhanced versatility
in printing graphic images, logos, coupons, rebates
and specials.
Unique among
ink-jet printers, the SRP-500 features a foolproof
drop-and-load paper mechanism. The compact lightweight
printer also features an auto cutter, low ink indicator
and a paper near end sensor. Available with parallel,
serial, or USB interfaces, the SRP-500 runs with
provided Windows 95/98/2000/NT/XP or OPOS drivers,
and includes a cash drawer port that can run two
cash drawers. CRS also provides the Samsung SRP-500
StoreMaker utility software that converts images
into bitmaps suitable for printing.
